We believe that baptism is the outward symbol of the commitment you have made in your heart. For those of you who have accepted Christ into your lives this is the Greatest step you can take to show others that commitment.

The beach baptisms will take place at Fort Desoto Beach, Saturday April 17th, starting at 11:00am. For directions from the YMCA click Here. There will be New Walk Church signs when you hit the Fort Desoto Beach area...Follow the signs to the area. This is a long stretch of beach and you will want to find the area we will be in. If you are driving from the Zephyrhills area, give your self an hour and 15 minutes at least to prepare to be there by 10:45am so you don't miss anything. There is a toll of $1.00 when you get off the interstate so be sure you have some change.

After the baptism we will celebrate and have a "Pot Luck" picnic. Please bring a dish to share with everyone. New Walk will provide the paper goods and bottled water. We will be done with our baptism and celebration around Noon.

Contact us as soon as possible if you will need a ride. 813-469-9299

You will need to wear shorts and a top (not white for women) during the baptism, you probably will want to bring a change of clothes, a towel, and a plastic bag for your wet clothes.

Gary Baldus

Many churches hit summer and put it on cruise control. Hoping & praying to just make it to the fall season. I think when we get into that mindset... that is what we get. We get a maintaining summer. However, when we go after life change in summer, God honors it. This summer at New Walk we had our series called BareNakedFaith.com & our prayer was that we would see 30 new conversions & 30 Baptisms in 7 weeks. Now... when you consider the average church has less than 5 Conversions and 10 baptisms A YEAR, our 30/30 goal in 7 weeks was aggressive but not what God had in mind.

WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED: 70 Conversions & 90 Baptisms!

So, if a church leader reads this, my encouragement is to not be slack in summer. Think opposite. Think whatever the average church is doing.. what ever is tradition, do opposite.
